Focal Aria Evo X N°2 is a 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker created for audiophile music listening in contemporary living spaces. Combining three Flax-cone drivers with Focal’s TAM tweeter, it delivers a balanced and expressive presentation with powerful bass, natural midrange and precise, smooth high frequencies.

Focal positions the Aria Evo X N°2 as an accessible audiophile floorstanding model ideally suited to rooms from approximately 20 m², with a recommended listening distance of around 3 metres.

Three Flax Drivers for Natural and Dynamic Sound

Aria Evo X N°2 uses two 6.5-inch Flax woofers together with a dedicated 6.5-inch Flax midrange driver. Focal’s patented Flax sandwich cone places high-quality French flax fibres between two thin layers of fiberglass, creating a diaphragm that combines low mass, high rigidity and effective internal damping.

The two bass drivers provide weight, impact and control at low frequencies, while the dedicated midrange driver reproduces voices and instruments with the neutrality and natural tonal character for which Focal’s Flax technology is known.

TMD Suspension for Greater Midrange Neutrality

The dedicated midrange driver incorporates Focal’s Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) suspension. Carefully positioned damping elements stabilise the surround and reduce unwanted resonances, particularly in the critical 1 kHz to 2 kHz region.

This helps improve clarity and neutrality through the midrange, allowing vocals and acoustic instruments to retain their natural texture even in complex musical passages.

TAM Tweeter with Wide Dispersion

High frequencies are handled by Focal’s 1-inch aluminium/magnesium TAM tweeter. Its M-shaped inverted dome combines high rigidity with very low moving mass, while the dedicated waveguide provides controlled directivity and improved horizontal dispersion.

A decompression chamber behind the tweeter reduces disturbances caused by rear radiation, contributing to smooth treble, precise imaging and a wide, stable soundstage.

Powerflow Multi-Port Bass System

Aria Evo X N°2 uses Focal’s Powerflow multi-port system, combining a front-facing bass-reflex port with a second port firing towards the floor. The front port adds impact, while the downward-facing port reinforces depth and helps reduce dynamic compression.

This configuration allows the speaker to produce substantial low-frequency energy while maintaining control and responsiveness across a wide range of listening levels.

Rigid Cabinet and Aluminium-Alloy Base

The loudspeaker is built around an ultra-rigid MDF cabinet with non-parallel side panels to minimise internal standing waves and unwanted vibration. This provides a stable mechanical platform for the drivers and contributes to a more neutral presentation.

An integrated aluminium-alloy base improves floor stability and incorporates height-adjustable spikes, helping achieve secure mechanical coupling and precise positioning in the listening room.

Designed and Made in France

The Aria Evo X N°2 is made in France, with its key speaker technologies developed and manufactured by Focal. The combination of proprietary Flax drivers, TMD suspension and the TAM tweeter reflects the company’s long-standing approach to developing its own acoustic technologies.

Distinctive Aria Evo X Finishes

The cabinet combines a leather-effect front panel with a choice of Black High Gloss, Prime Walnut and Moss Green High Gloss finishes. A removable magnetic grille preserves the speaker’s clean appearance while allowing its drivers and distinctive Flax cones to remain visible when desired.
