The Revox STUDIOMASTER CD100 is a premium compact CD player developed for listeners who want to keep a high-quality physical music collection at the heart of a modern audio system. Designed as a natural partner for the Revox STUDIOMASTER M300 and M500, it combines a high-quality CD mechanism, Burr-Brown digital-to-analogue conversion and straightforward system integration in Revox’s characteristic compact format.

High-Quality CD Playback

At the centre of the CD100 is a high-quality CLV CD drive designed for accurate and reliable playback of CD-DA and CD-R discs. The player is built as a complete source component rather than simply a transport, allowing it to be connected to an amplifier through its analogue output or used with an external DAC via its coaxial or optical digital outputs.

Burr-Brown PCM1796 DAC

Digital-to-analogue conversion is handled by the proven Burr-Brown PCM1796 DAC. This allows the CD100 to deliver an analogue audio signal directly to a suitable amplifier while retaining the option of sending the digital signal to another DAC or digital-equipped amplifier when required.

Seamless STUDIOMASTER Integration

The CD100 has been designed for particularly close integration with the Revox STUDIOMASTER M300 and M500. A coaxial connection carries the digital audio signal, while the supplied Revox Control Port CD Player Connection Cable provides communication between the components. Once connected, the system can configure the CD player automatically, making it available as a dedicated source without complicated manual setup.

When the CD100 is selected from a compatible STUDIOMASTER system, the player can switch on automatically, read the inserted disc and provide playback information and control through the system interface. Track selection, playback time and operating status can be displayed through the connected M300 or M500 system. Switching to another source can also automatically place the CD100 back into standby.

Flexible Connectivity and Control

In addition to its analogue audio output, the CD100 provides both coaxial and optical digital outputs. Control options include IR RC5 commands and RS232, allowing the player to work both as a conventional standalone CD source and as part of a more extensively integrated audio installation.

The CD100 is also backward compatible with the Revox Joy S119 and S120 MKII network receivers via the CD-Link interface, extending its usefulness beyond the current STUDIOMASTER generation.

Compact Revox Design

With a width of only 200 mm, the STUDIOMASTER CD100 offers full CD playback functionality in a notably compact enclosure. A solid aluminium cabinet and glass front panel give the player the understated, durable construction associated with Revox components, while Black, White and Silver finishes make it easy to match with different systems and interiors.
