Tony Bennett & Bill Evans – The Tony Bennett & Bill Evans Album Analogue Productions 45RPM 2LP

Tony Bennett & Bill Evans – The Tony Bennett & Bill Evans Album brings together two giants of American music in one of the most intimate and celebrated vocal jazz recordings of the 1970s. Originally released in 1975 on Fantasy Records, the album features only Tony Bennett’s voice and Bill Evans’ piano, with no rhythm section or orchestral accompaniment.

The stripped-down setting places every nuance of Bennett’s phrasing and Evans’ harmonic imagination at the centre of the recording. Their interpretations of standards such as My Foolish Heart, Waltz for Debby, The Touch of Your Lips and Days of Wine and Roses give the album an exceptionally personal and direct character.

This audiophile edition from Analogue Productions spreads the album across two 180 g vinyl records cut at 45 RPM. Mastering was performed by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman at AcousTech Mastering, with the records pressed at Quality Record Pressings (QRP).

The 45 RPM format provides additional groove space and allows the recording’s dynamics, vocal texture and subtle piano overtones to be reproduced with outstanding clarity. The records are housed in a premium Stoughton Printing Old Style Tip-On gatefold jacket with a scuff-resistant matte finish.
