THE COMPLETE REPRISE STUDIO ALBUMS \u2013 VOLUME 1<\/p>\n

It contains newly remastered versions of six studio albums pressed on 180-gram vinyl:\u00a0Money and Cigarettes<\/em>\u00a0(1983)<\/strong> as a single LP, and\u00a0Behind the Sun<\/em>\u00a0(1985),\u00a0August<\/em>\u00a0(1986),\u00a0Journeyman<\/em>\u00a0(1989),\u00a0From the Cradle<\/em>\u00a0(1994),<\/strong> and\u00a0Pilgrim<\/em>\u00a0(1998)<\/strong> as double-LPs.\u00a0Behind The Sun<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0August\u00a0<\/em>were originally released as single LPs; both are now 3-sided double albums to avoid long LP sides and to maximize the audio quality.<\/p>\n

The final LP in the collection,\u00a0Rarities (1983-1998)<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>brings together eight rare recordings from this era, including live versions of \u201cWhite Room\u201d and \u201cCrossroads\u201d that were both featured on the B-side on the 1987 single \u201cBehind The Mask.\u201d Another B-side, \u201cTheme From A Movie That Never Happened\u201d (Orchestral), appeared in 1998 on the Grammy-winning single, \u201cMy Father\u2019s Eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

All the music included in this collection was mastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering and the lacquers for the LPs were cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering.<\/p>\n

VOLUME I spans 15 years and touches on some of Clapton\u2019s biggest studio albums. It begins with\u00a0Money and Cigarettes,\u00a0<\/em>the guitarist\u2019s eighth solo studio album, which he co-produced with Atlantic Records\u2019 legend Tom Dowd. Released in 1983, it reached the Top 20 in the U.S. and the U.K. and introduced the hit single \u201cI\u2019ve Got A Rock \u2019n\u2019 Roll Heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0Clapton worked with Phil Collins to produce his next album,\u00a0Behind the Sun<\/em>, which peaked at #8 in the U.K. The album would earn platinum-certification in the U.S. thanks to hits like \u201cForever Man\u201d and \u201cShe\u2019s Waiting.\u201d Collins returned to co-produce the next album,\u00a0August<\/em>, as well. Certified gold in the U.S., it featured a trio of Top 10 singles \u2013 \u201cMiss You,\u201d \u201cTearing Us Apart,\u201d (a duet with Tina Turner) and the #1 smash, \u201cIt\u2019s In The Way That You Use It.\u201d Clapton co-wrote the latter with Robbie Robertson and co-produced the track with Dowd. The song was also featured in\u00a0The Color of Money<\/em>, the 1986 blockbuster film starring Paul Newman and Tom Cruise.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Journeyman,\u00a0<\/em>Clapton\u2019s 1989 follow-up, reached #2 in the U.K. where it was certified platinum. An international sensation, the record was certified platinum in Canada and gold in Argentina, Australia, France, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. The album was certified double platinum in the U.S., scoring #1 hits on the Mainstream Rock charts with \u201cPretending\u201d and the Grammy\u00d2 winning single \u201cBad Love.\u201d The album had two more Top 10 hits in America with \u201cBefore You Accuse Me\u201d (#9) and \u201cNo Alibis\u201d (#4).<\/p>\n

\u00a0Following the runaway success of his 1992 live album\u00a0Unplugged<\/em>, Clapton returned in 1994 with\u00a0From The Cradle<\/em>. A blues covers album, it featured his versions of songs recorded by some of the bluesmen who influenced him, including Robert Johnson, Howlin\u2019 Wolf, Muddy Waters, Freddie King and more. The album was certified triple-platinum in the U.S., where it topped the Billboard 200. It also reached #1 in the U.K., making it his only #1 album in the U.K. to date. In addition,\u00a0From The Cradle\u00a0<\/em>won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album.<\/p>\n

The final release on VOLUME I is\u00a0Pilgrim<\/em>, Clapton\u2019s 1998 Grammy Award winning 13th<\/sup>\u00a0solo studio album. It reached the Top 10 in more than 20 countries, including the U.S. (#4) and the U.K. (#3). A passion project for Clapton, the album was certified platinum in America thanks to hit singles like, \u201cMy Father\u2019s Eyes,\u201d \u201cCircus,\u201d \u201cBorn In Time\u201d (penned by Bob Dylan) and the title track.<\/p>\n
