Luxman D-100 CENTENNIAL is a flagship SACD/CD player and digital-to-analogue converter created to celebrate 100 years of Luxman. It is designed as the digital source partner for Luxman’s centennial amplifier range, combining physical disc playback, high-resolution digital input and a refined analogue output stage in one substantial component.
The D-100 CENTENNIAL plays 2-channel SACD and CD discs, making it a serious choice for listeners who still value a carefully built disc transport and a dedicated high-end player. At the same time, it can also operate as a high-resolution DAC for external digital sources, including computers, network transports and other digital components.
For disc playback, Luxman uses its newly developed LxDTM-i disc transport mechanism, designed for stability, rigidity and vibration control. The transport construction uses a reinforced mechanical structure to keep disc rotation accurate and to reduce unwanted resonance before the signal reaches the digital processing and conversion stages.
The D/A conversion section uses a dual-mono configuration with ROHM BD34302EKV DAC chips, selected for high-resolution playback and natural musical expression. USB input supports PCM signals up to 768 kHz / 32-bit and DSD up to 22.5 MHz, allowing the player to serve not only as a disc source but also as a serious modern DAC.
Luxman’s LIFES 1.1 circuit is used in the fully balanced analogue output stage, giving the D-100 CENTENNIAL the brand’s characteristic focus on smoothness, low noise, tonal density and musical flow. The player provides both RCA unbalanced and XLR balanced analogue outputs for integration into high-end systems.
The digital input section includes USB, coaxial and optical inputs, while digital outputs allow the unit to be used flexibly in more complex systems. A monochrome OLED display and Luxman’s special CENTENNIAL visual identity complete the front-panel design.
