KEF LS LUXE Wireless Bookshelf Speakers

The KEF LS LUXE is a premium active wireless HiFi speaker system that combines advanced KEF acoustic technology with a distinctive sculptural design by Ross Lovegrove. Positioned above the LS50 Wireless II, the LS LUXE is designed as a complete high-end music system, integrating loudspeakers, amplification, digital signal processing and network streaming without requiring separate amplifiers or source components.

The LS LUXE has been created in collaboration with industrial designer Ross Lovegrove. Its flowing cabinet shape is more than a visual statement: the low-diffraction enclosure is engineered to reduce unwanted cabinet interaction while providing the internal acoustic volume required by the 6.5-inch Uni-Q driver.

The result is a compact loudspeaker intended to function as both a high-performance audio component and an architectural element within a modern interior.

12th-Generation 6.5-Inch Uni-Q Driver

Each LS LUXE uses KEF’s 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array, with a 165 mm aluminium-cone midrange/bass driver surrounding a centrally positioned 25 mm vented aluminium-dome tweeter.

By placing the high- and mid-frequency sources at the same acoustic point, Uni-Q is designed to create a more consistent dispersion pattern and a wide, stable soundstage across a larger listening area.

Metamaterial Absorption Technology

KEF’s Metamaterial Absorption Technology, or MAT, is incorporated behind the tweeter. The complex acoustic structure is designed to absorb 99% of unwanted sound radiating from the rear of the tweeter, reducing internal reflections that could otherwise colour high-frequency reproduction.

Velocity Control Technology

The LS LUXE introduces KEF’s Velocity Control Technology, or VECO, to a wireless loudspeaker. The system uses motion-sensing feedback to monitor driver behaviour dynamically and correct deviations as they occur.

By reducing distortion and power compression, VECO is designed to maintain accurate driver behaviour across different listening levels and during demanding musical passages.

Current-Drive Amplification

The LS LUXE uses dedicated amplification for the low/mid-frequency and high-frequency sections of each Uni-Q driver. The LF/MF section is powered by a 280-watt Class D amplifier, while the tweeter uses a 100-watt Class AB amplifier.

KEF’s Current-Drive approach regulates current delivered to the driver rather than relying solely on conventional voltage-drive behaviour. This close integration between amplifier, DSP and driver allows the complete system to be optimised as a single acoustic platform.

Music Integrity Engine

KEF’s Music Integrity Engine provides the digital signal processing that coordinates the drivers, amplification and acoustic correction. Timing, crossover behaviour and system response are managed digitally to ensure that every part of the loudspeaker operates as an integrated system.

High-Resolution Wireless Streaming

The LS LUXE supports network playback at resolutions up to 24-bit/384kHz and integrates directly with Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect. Amazon Music, Deezer, Internet Radio, podcasts and QQ Music are also supported where available.

Apple AirPlay, Google Cast and UPnP provide additional network playback options, while Bluetooth 5.3 offers a straightforward wireless connection for phones, tablets and other compatible devices.

Roon Ready functionality is scheduled to become available during 2027 through a complimentary over-the-air software update.

TV and Digital Source Connectivity

HDMI eARC allows the LS LUXE to serve as a high-quality stereo sound system for a compatible television. Optical and coaxial digital inputs provide connections for additional sources such as CD transports, televisions and network players, while a 3.5 mm analogue auxiliary input allows conventional analogue equipment to be connected.

Wireless or Wired Speaker Connection

The primary and secondary speakers can communicate wirelessly or through a dedicated Ethernet interspeaker connection. In wireless mode, sources are resampled to 24-bit/96kHz PCM, while a wired interspeaker connection increases this to 24-bit/192kHz PCM.

Dual Subwoofer Outputs

Each speaker includes its own RCA subwoofer output, allowing one or two active subwoofers to be integrated into the system. KEF’s KW1 wireless adapter can also be used when a wireless subwoofer connection is preferred.

KEF Connect App

The KEF Connect app provides system setup, source selection, streaming and adjustable EQ settings. This allows the response of the LS LUXE to be adapted to speaker placement, room characteristics and individual listening preferences.

A Complete High-End Wireless System

By combining dedicated amplification, advanced DSP, high-resolution streaming and comprehensive wired connectivity inside a compact pair of loudspeakers, the KEF LS LUXE provides an alternative to a conventional separates-based system. It is designed for listeners who want genuine high-end stereo performance with substantially fewer components and cables while retaining the flexibility to connect televisions, digital sources, analogue equipment and subwoofers.
