Description

Effortless balance

Dynaudio Confidence 30i is the compact floorstanding model in the new Confidence i reference series. Its passive 3-way design combines the latest Esotar 3i tweeter, Dynaudio Directivity Control 3.0 with a dedicated DDC Lens, a 15 cm MSP midrange driver and two 18 cm NeoTec MSP woofers with a comprehensively re-engineered crossover.

Designed for listeners who want the scale and authority of a true reference floorstander without moving to the largest cabinet in the range, Confidence 30i combines speed, control and precision with exceptional spatial stability.

Esotar 3i and DDC 3.0

The new 28 mm Esotar 3i soft-dome tweeter represents the latest development of Dynaudio’s reference high-frequency technology. Its upgraded neodymium motor system and refined internal construction improve detail retrieval, dynamic capability and precision while retaining the smooth, natural presentation associated with the Esotar family.

Confidence 30i also uses a dedicated DDC Lens as part of Dynaudio Directivity Control 3.0. Together with the carefully arranged midrange and bass drivers and the acoustically shaped baffle, DDC 3.0 reduces unwanted floor and ceiling reflections, broadens horizontal dispersion and directs more of the loudspeaker’s energy towards the listening position.

The result is a wider, deeper and more stable soundstage with outstanding image focus and reduced room influence.

Dedicated midrange and twin NeoTec woofers

A dedicated 15 cm MSP midrange driver handles the critical vocal and instrumental range. Its Horizon surround follows the shape of the cone right to its outer edge and sits flush with the baffle, helping the driver integrate smoothly with the surrounding acoustic surface.

Low frequencies are reproduced by two 18 cm NeoTec MSP woofers. Powerful neodymium magnet systems, lightweight voice-coil assemblies and Dynaudio’s proprietary Magnesium Silicate Polymer diaphragms provide the combination of speed, control and low-frequency authority required from a reference loudspeaker.

Using two bass drivers at separate positions also helps distribute low-frequency energy more evenly throughout the room.

Down-firing bass-reflex system

Confidence 30i uses a down-firing bass-reflex port that works together with the loudspeaker’s substantial base as part of the acoustic system.

This controlled geometry allows the port to operate consistently across different floor surfaces while making placement less dependent on the distance between the cabinet and rear wall. The result is deep, controlled bass with excellent integration into the listening room.

Re-engineered crossover

The new crossover has been developed specifically around the Esotar 3i tweeter, dedicated MSP midrange driver, twin NeoTec woofers and DDC 3.0 system.

Crossover points at 320 Hz and 2800 Hz, together with a carefully optimised 2nd/3rd-order topology, create a coherent transition between the drive units while preserving phase behaviour, tonal balance and spatial precision.
