Dynaudio Confidence 50i is the largest loudspeaker in the new Confidence i reference series. Its passive 3-way design combines the latest Esotar 3i tweeter, Dynaudio Directivity Control 3.0 with a dedicated DDC Lens, two 15 cm MSP midrange drivers and two 18 cm MSP woofers in a symmetrical driver array engineered for scale, control and exceptional spatial precision.

Confidence 50i is designed for larger listening rooms and systems that demand effortless dynamic headroom. It delivers serious low-frequency authority and room-filling scale while preserving the clarity, focus and natural tonal balance that define the Confidence series.

Esotar 3i and DDC 3.0

The new 28 mm Esotar 3i soft-dome tweeter is Dynaudio’s latest reference high-frequency driver. Improvements to airflow, thermal stability, damping and magnetic force allow it to reproduce fine detail with greater precision and dynamic freedom while retaining the smooth, natural character associated with Esotar.

Surrounding the tweeter is the dedicated DDC Lens, an integral part of Dynaudio Directivity Control 3.0. Together with the acoustically shaped baffle and symmetrical driver arrangement, DDC 3.0 directs more sound towards the listening position while reducing unwanted reflections from the floor and ceiling.

The result is a wider sweet spot, greater image stability and a deep, precisely defined soundstage with less influence from the listening room.

Symmetrical midrange and bass array

Confidence 50i places the Esotar 3i tweeter between two dedicated 15 cm MSP midrange drivers, with an 18 cm MSP woofer positioned above and below the central section.

This symmetrical arrangement forms the foundation of DDC 3.0 while providing substantial radiating area and exceptional dynamic capability.

The dedicated midrange drivers use Dynaudio’s Horizon surround, which follows the cone profile to its outer edge and sits flush with the baffle. This helps reduce diffraction and increases the effective radiating area for clean, highly articulate reproduction of voices and instruments.

The twin 18 cm bass drivers provide powerful low-frequency extension with the speed and control required for a reference loudspeaker.

Down-firing bass-reflex system

Confidence 50i uses a down-firing bass-reflex port integrated with its solid steel base plate.

Because the distance and geometry between the port and base remain constant, the system provides a controlled acoustic foundation independent of the floor surface. This helps deliver consistent, deep and precisely controlled bass while giving greater freedom in room placement.

Re-engineered crossover

The Confidence i crossover has been comprehensively revised for improved directivity, power response and dynamics.

Confidence 50i uses crossover points at 400 Hz and 3000 Hz with a carefully optimised 1st/2nd/3rd-order topology with DDC. The network is designed specifically around the Esotar 3i tweeter, dual MSP midrange drivers and twin MSP woofers to maintain seamless integration, tonal consistency and precise phase behaviour.

The new Confidence i generation also benefits from upgraded crossover components developed with Duelund and Dynaudio’s new patent-pending UltraPrecision Array resistor technology.

Confidence i finishes and availability

Blonde Wood and Ruby Wood High Gloss will be available in Europe from 24 November 2026.

Space High Gloss is expected to become available globally in early 2027.
