As the most compact floorstanding model in the 800 Series Diamond D5 range, the 804 D5 offers reference-level performance without the larger Turbine Head enclosure found on its bigger siblings. Its refined engineering makes it an outstanding choice for high-performance stereo systems and sophisticated home cinema installations.
Diamond Dome Tweeter
The 25mm Diamond Dome tweeter is housed in Bowers & Wilkins’ distinctive Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top assembly. Its exceptionally rigid diamond diaphragm delivers remarkable high-frequency resolution, while the mechanically isolated housing helps minimise unwanted vibrations and resonance.
The result is outstanding transparency, precise spatial imaging and the ability to reveal subtle musical details with exceptional accuracy.
Continuum Cone Midrange with Aluminium Enclosure
A major development in the 804 D5 is its new dedicated aluminium midrange enclosure, inspired by the Turbine Head construction used in larger 800 Series Diamond models.
Inside this carefully engineered enclosure, a 130mm Continuum Cone FST midrange driver with Biomimetic Suspension reproduces vocals and instruments with remarkable naturalness and precision. The advanced decoupled construction and Anti-Resonance Plug help minimise coloration and unwanted mechanical interference.
Twin Aerofoil Bass Drivers
Two 165mm Aerofoil bass drivers provide deep, controlled low-frequency reproduction and impressive dynamic authority. Their variable-thickness cone construction combines rigidity with low mass, allowing the drivers to reproduce demanding bass passages with accuracy and control.
The integrated Flowport bass-reflex system contributes to extended low-frequency performance while reducing unwanted airflow noise.
Enhanced Matrix and Space Frame Bracing
The 804 D5 features an advanced Reverse-Wrap cabinet, formed from a continuous curve and reinforced by a substantial aluminium spine. This construction helps reduce unwanted cabinet reflections and improves structural rigidity.
The latest Enhanced Matrix bracing works together with aluminium Space Frame Bracing to further suppress cabinet resonance, allowing the drive units to perform with greater precision.
Upgraded Plinth with Tuned-Mass Damping
A redesigned aluminium plinth incorporates tuned-mass damping and advanced vibration-control technologies. This provides a stable foundation while helping reduce unwanted mechanical resonance.
