The Composer is a premium reference headphone designed for connoisseurs and professionals to hear their music in its finest form.

These headphones deliver spacious yet precise high frequencies and faithful and swift bass impulses at remarkably low THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) levels, ensuring an incredibly revealing listening journey that sets new standards in high-end listening.

The adjustable headband employs a mesh material to release heat and avoid perspiration, and the design weighs in at under 400 grams. Tiltable earcups enable four positions to help achieve a flawless fit. The cables attach directly to the headband to protect the ears from undue strain.

New driver design

The Composer incorporates Austrian Audio’s award-winning Hi-X technology, but with a new 49mm driver design: The Hi-X49 DLC, featuring a diaphragm coated with diamond-like carbon for exceptional rigidity and an authentic listening experience at all loudness levels.

Our Story Following the closure of the AKG offices in Vienna, we set out to create something new, challenging, and respectful to our heritage. Opening our doors in July 2017, Austrian Audio was born. We started with a core team of 22 former AKG personnel from management, acoustics, electronics, test and measurement, mechanical design, RF/wireless, and software and firmware – and are continuing to grow. We may be relatively new, but the skill, knowledge, and tradition lives on at Austrian Audio, backed by over 350 years of cumulative engineering experience. And we’re not only focused on heritage: keep an eye on where our journey is taking technology, audio, and us.
