Sourced from the original masters, pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing in California, and housed in a Stoughton gatefold jacket, Mobile Fidelity’s numbered-edition 180g 33RPM 2LP set presents Dangerous in audiophile-quality sound for the first time. Jackson’s signature vocals come across with incredible transparency and presence. As does the fullness of his range and highest reaches of his falsetto. You’ll also enjoy expansive soundstages, ample instrumental separation, black backgrounds, and broad dynamics.
Dangerous saw Michael Jackson go in a different direction. The strategy paid off as the 1991 album entered the Billboard 200 album chart at No. 1 and sold more than 25 million copies worldwide by September 1994. That number is now closer to 40 million copies worldwide. Featuring 14 songs, Dangerous contains a bevy of hit singles, including “Black or White,” “In the Closet,” “Remember the Time,” “Jam,” and “Heal the World.” The release of each of the album’s nine singles was accompanied by its own unique Michael Jackson short film, all of which were ultimately included on Dangerous: The Short Films, which was released in 1993.
