Its combination of a Diamond Dome tweeter, a dedicated Turbine Head with Continuum Cone midrange driver, and twin 200mm Aerofoil bass drivers provides exceptional musical realism and control.

Diamond Dome Tweeter

The 25mm Diamond Dome tweeter is housed in Bowers & Wilkins’ distinctive Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top assembly. Its exceptionally rigid diamond diaphragm pushes the break-up frequency to approximately 70kHz, well beyond the audible range, contributing to outstanding high-frequency clarity, precision and openness.

The mechanically isolated aluminium tweeter housing helps minimise unwanted vibrations and interference, allowing the finest musical details to emerge with remarkable accuracy. The result is an exceptionally transparent and spacious presentation with precise positioning of instruments and vocals.

Turbine Head with Continuum Cone Midrange

The 802 D5 features Bowers & Wilkins’ iconic Turbine Head, a carefully engineered aluminium enclosure that houses the dedicated 150mm Continuum Cone FST midrange driver.

Mechanically decoupled from the main bass cabinet, the Turbine Head provides an exceptionally rigid and acoustically optimised environment for the critical midrange frequencies. Enhanced Matrix and Aluminium Space Frame Bracing

The 802 D5 incorporates an upgraded Matrix cabinet bracing system, reinforced by aluminium Space Frame Bracing. This advanced internal construction significantly increases cabinet rigidity and reduces unwanted resonance, helping the loudspeaker maintain exceptional clarity and precision.

The latest generation also introduces an improved aluminium top section within the cabinet, further enhancing structural stability and acoustic performance.
