One of the advantages is a more stable supply of power, which ensures that the motor works with higher precision. If it is used with the Clearaudio Concept Active turntable, there is even a double benefit. The Smart Power 12V will also power the integrated RIAA amplifier. The Smart Power 12V can be set to automatically switch from battery operation to charging.
Overview
The Smart Power 12V is a battery-based DC power supply upgrade designed for Clearaudio’s concept series and Performance DC turntables. Like the Smart Power 24V, it provides clean power that is independent of the variability and inherent noise of the mains supply. With a minimal output impedance, it delivers a steady, stable voltage, allowing your concept or Performance DC turntable to maintain perfect speed stability. Again, like the 24V version, the Smart Power 12V can be set to switch automatically from battery play mode into recharging mode and will continue to enhance your turntable’s performance and protect it from short circuits and power surges, even while charging. When used with the concept active turntable, the Smart Power’s (12V) benefits are multiplied, since both the turntable’s motor and the on-board phonostage are fed with pure, clean DC power.
