Flagship X1 Architecture

At the heart of the Lumin S2 is an architecture derived from the award-winning Lumin X1. The S2 retains its sophisticated dual-mono conversion design and high-quality analogue output stage while incorporating Lumin’s latest processing platform.

New Digital Inputs for External Sources

A coaxial RCA S/PDIF input and an optical TOSLINK input allow external digital sources to use the S2’s dual ES9038PRO DAC architecture and fully balanced analogue output stage.

Both inputs support PCM signals up to 192kHz / 24-bit and DSD64 via DoP.

This additional functionality makes the S2 particularly attractive for systems combining high-resolution streaming with a dedicated CD transport or another digital source.

High-Resolution Streaming and Roon Ready

The Lumin S2 supports high-resolution network playback up to PCM 384kHz / 32-bit and DSD512, alongside full MQA decoding.

Its advanced streaming platform supports popular music services and protocols, including TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay, Roon Ready, UPnP/OpenHome, JPLAY and Audirvana.

Playback can be managed through the dedicated Lumin application for iOS and Android, providing convenient access to streaming services, compatible network music libraries and playback settings.

Optical Fibre Network Connection

For flexible network integration, the S2 features both a conventional Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 connection and an SFP optical network interface.

The optical connection enables electrical isolation between compatible network equipment and the player, while both network interfaces can be used simultaneously in suitable configurations.

USB Digital Output and Advanced Processing

In addition to its analogue outputs, the Lumin S2 provides a USB digital audio output for connection to an external DAC.

The USB output supports PCM up to 384kHz / 32-bit and native DSD512, allowing the player to operate as a high-performance network transport when required.

The S2 also offers advanced upsampling options, including PCM up to 384kHz and DSD256.

Leedh Processing Volume Control
