Plinius Toko Digital Audio Player is a digital source component designed for listeners who want both network music playback and traditional CD playback in one Plinius component.
Toko is primarily designed as a network player. It connects to a home network via Ethernet and works with DLNA-compatible servers and control applications, allowing music playback from a network music library without placing a computer directly in the hi-fi system.
The built-in slot-loading CD transport adds useful flexibility for listeners who still own and enjoy compact discs. This makes Toko a practical choice for systems where both stored digital music and CD playback remain important.
Plinius Toko supports popular digital audio file formats including FLAC, LPCM, AIFF, ALAC and MP3, with playback capability up to 24-bit / 192kHz. Gapless playback is also supported for suitable music files.
The digital section uses Burr Brown DAC and interface receiver components, chosen for their proven sound quality and suitability for high-resolution digital audio playback.
For system connection, Toko provides both RCA unbalanced and balanced XLR analogue outputs, allowing it to be used with integrated amplifiers, preamplifiers and more serious pre/power systems. It is a natural digital source for Plinius amplification, including Hiato, Hautonga, Kaitaki and Reference M10-based systems.
The aluminium chassis, lid and panels provide a non-magnetic housing, helping to reduce unwanted interference around the sensitive audio circuitry. High-quality WBT RCA and Neutrik XLR connectors support reliable connection to the rest of the system.
Compared with Tiki, which is a dedicated network player, Toko is the more versatile choice for customers who want network playback and CD playback in one component. Tiki remains the cleaner solution for systems focused only on network audio, while Toko is better suited to mixed digital libraries and CD collections.
The Plinius Toko is available in Silver and Black finish, allowing it to match other Plinius components and different system aesthetics.
For best results, Toko should be paired with a stable home network, suitable interconnects and a carefully matched integrated amplifier or pre/power system.

Build a Serious Stereo System with Plinius
Plinius is especially interesting for listeners who want amplification with authority, musical flow and long-term ownership value. The Reference A-300 and Reference A-150 power amplifiers continue the Plinius tradition of high-current Class A / Class AB operation, while models such as Hiato, Hautonga, Kaitaki and Reference M-10 offer different ways to build a complete Plinius-based system. Beyond amplification, Plinius also covers important analogue and digital system roles, including phono stages for vinyl playback and source components for digital music. This makes the brand suitable not only for single-component upgrades, but also for building a complete, coherent stereo system around a clear sonic character.Recommended categories for building a Plinius-based system:- Integrated Amplifiers - Power Amplifiers - Preamplifiers - Phono Preamps - Network Players & Streamers - CD Players & Transports - Audio CablesTo discuss the right Plinius solution for your system, contact us. We can help you choose between an integrated amplifier, pre/power system, phono stage or source component based on your loudspeakers, room and listening priorities.
