Silent Angel H1 is a compact all-in-one digital music source that combines a high-resolution network streamer, advanced dual-DAC architecture, local music storage and comprehensive digital connectivity in a single aluminium chassis. Positioned by Silent Angel as a Pure Music Hub, the H1 is designed to become the digital centre of a modern hi-fi, desktop or active-speaker system.

Unlike a conventional network streamer, the H1 can operate in several roles: as a complete streamer with analogue output, as a standalone USB DAC for a computer or mobile device, as a digital transport feeding an external DAC, and as a local music player with internal NVMe storage.

Dual ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M DAC Architecture

The digital-to-analogue section is built around two ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M DAC chips. Silent Angel combines them with a carefully designed analogue stage using six proprietary Kmuse devices and two Texas Instruments OPA1612 operational amplifiers.

Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs allow the H1 to connect directly to an integrated amplifier, preamplifier, power amplifier with volume control or active loudspeakers. The balanced output provides a particularly strong foundation for higher-performance hi-fi systems.

Third-Generation XMOS XU316

A third-generation 16-core XMOS XU316 audio processor handles high-resolution USB audio. The USB-B input supports PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512, allowing the H1 to function as a high-performance standalone DAC for computers and compatible mobile devices.

Silent Angel also employs a multi-stage approach to clocking and jitter reduction, combining dedicated clocking for different sample-rate families with the DAC architecture’s asynchronous processing.

Streamer, DAC and Digital Transport in One

H1 can be used as a complete analogue source through its XLR or RCA outputs, but its role is not limited to its internal DAC. USB Audio, USB-C and optical digital outputs make it possible to connect an external DAC and use the H1 as a dedicated streaming transport.

The USB audio outputs support PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD256, while the optical output supports PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz.

5.5-Inch HD Display

The front panel features a 5.5-inch non-touch HD display with 720 × 1280 resolution. It can show album artwork, artist and track information, lyrics and other playback data, giving the H1 the visual presence of a complete music source rather than a conventional screenless network component.

Playback and system configuration are controlled through Silent Angel’s VitOS Orbiter app for smartphones and tablets, while the front-panel rotary control provides convenient volume and mute operation.

Streaming with VitOS

Silent Angel’s Linux-based VitOS platform is designed specifically for digital audio playback and music-library management. H1 supports TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, DLNA Renderer and Internet Radio, as well as playback from local and network-based music collections.

Gigabit Ethernet provides a stable wired network connection, while Wi-Fi offers additional installation flexibility where a network cable is not practical.

Up to 8TB of Internal Music Storage

An internal M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 slot allows an SSD with up to 8TB capacity to be installed inside the H1. This makes it possible to keep a substantial high-resolution music library directly in the player without requiring a separate NAS or external computer.

Music can also be played from USB storage devices and NAS network shares. VitOS scans connected libraries, organises music metadata and supports CUE files for albums stored as continuous audio files.

Low-Noise Power and Analogue Design

The H1 uses a low-ripple internal power supply with separate power domains for its main playback circuitry, DAC section and analogue stages. Separating these areas helps reduce interaction between digital processing and sensitive analogue circuitry.

This architecture complements the dual DAC and analogue output design, helping the H1 deliver a clean and stable signal whether it is used as a network source, USB DAC or local music player.

Flexible Digital Centre for a Modern Hi-Fi System

With analogue XLR and RCA outputs, USB-B input, USB and optical digital outputs, internal SSD expansion, network streaming and local music playback, the Silent Angel H1 can replace several separate digital components in a compact system.

It can be connected directly to an amplifier or active speakers, used as a front end for an existing external DAC, or form the heart of a larger Silent Angel digital ecosystem together with dedicated network switches and power products.
