The newly developed Thorens TAS 1600 cartridge is a Japanese made low output MC that was specially developed for the Thorens TD 1600 and TD 1601. With an output voltage of 0.4 millivolts at 5.5 cm/s, it delivers sufficient levels to harmonize with common phono preamplifiers. With an internal resistance of 12 ohms, it feels in good hands at a terminating resistor of > 100 ohms. At the end of a massive boron cantilever sits a fine diamond with a line-contact cut, which elicits every musical fineness of the record groove.

Thorens TAS 1600 is a newly developed Japanese made low output MC phono cartridge that is specially developed for the Thorens TD 1600 and TD 1601 turntables. The TAS 1600 output voltage is 0.4 millivolts at 5.5 cm/s, which is a sufficient level to harmonize with most common phono preamplifiers. The TAS 1600 cartridge has a line contact, diamond stylus that’s attached to a boron cantilever. This design delivers every last musical note captured from the record groove. It has an internal resistance of 12 ohms, which feels in good hands at a terminating resistor of > 100 ohms.
