Description

Plinius Kaitaki Preamplifier is a stereo preamplifier designed for listeners who want to build a serious Plinius-based system around separate preamplifier and power amplifier components.

Kaitaki is positioned as a flexible and musical control centre for high-quality stereo systems. It is especially well suited to systems using Plinius power amplifiers such as the P10, Reference A-150 or Reference A-300, while also remaining compatible with other high-quality power amplifiers.

The preamplifier offers both balanced and unbalanced input options, allowing it to work with modern digital sources, CD players, network players, DACs and traditional analogue components. Pre-out and line-out connections provide flexibility for system building, recording paths or more complex configurations.

Plinius Kaitaki can be ordered as a standard line-level preamplifier or with an optional built-in phono stage. The phono stage is based on the Hautonga design and offers two gain settings and five loading settings, allowing more suitable matching with different phono cartridges.

This makes the Kaitaki a particularly attractive choice for customers who want a clean pre/power system with both digital and vinyl sources, without necessarily adding a separate external phono preamplifier from the beginning.

In a Plinius system, Kaitaki creates a natural bridge between the source components and the power amplifier. It gives the system proper volume control, source selection, signal routing and tonal coherence while allowing the power amplifier to focus purely on loudspeaker drive and control.

Compared with the Reference M-10, the Kaitaki is a more accessible and practical route into separate Plinius pre/power amplification. For customers who want the ultimate Plinius reference combination, the Reference M-10 remains the natural partner for the Reference A-300. For many serious systems, however, Kaitaki offers an excellent balance of musicality, flexibility and long-term upgrade potential.

The Plinius Kaitaki is available in Silver and Black finish. It can be ordered as a standard line-level preamplifier or with the optional phono stage installed.

For best results, Kaitaki should be matched with a suitable Plinius power amplifier, high-quality source components, carefully chosen interconnects and speaker cables, and loudspeakers appropriate for the chosen amplifier.

Build a Serious Stereo System with Plinius

Plinius is especially interesting for listeners who want amplification with authority, musical flow and long-term ownership value. The Reference A-300 and Reference A-150 power amplifiers continue the Plinius tradition of high-current Class A / Class AB operation, while models such as Hiato, Hautonga, Kaitaki and Reference M-10 offer different ways to build a complete Plinius-based system. Beyond amplification, Plinius also covers important analogue and digital system roles, including phono stages for vinyl playback and source components for digital music. This makes the brand suitable not only for single-component upgrades, but also for building a complete, coherent stereo system around a clear sonic character.
