With the new TD 124 DD Exclusive, Thorens presents a first-class high-end edition of the multi-award-winning TD 124 DD. Building on the 140th Anniversary Edition, the model has been consistently developed further – with exclusive components that raise analogue music reproduction to a reference level.
Overview
The central feature of the TD 124 DD Exclusive is the new 12-inch TP 124 tonearm, whose extended length ensures a significantly reduced tracking error angle and thus minimises distortion. The internal pure silver cabling guarantees maximum signal purity right up to the output.
A special highlight is the specially developed cartridge from EMT Tontechnik in Switzerland. The design is reminiscent of the legendary ‘Tondose’ from professional radio technology, but has been specifically optimised for the 12-inch TP 124 tonearm. Equipped with an SME connector, it guarantees maximum compatibility and a stable mechanical connection.
This technical equipment ensures outstanding channel separation, enormous dynamics and the finest detail resolution – ideal for lovers of high-quality analogue sounds. As with the TD 124 DD, the proven, powerful direct drive motor is used, which in this edition is powered by the TPN 124 linear power supply unit included in the scope of delivery. This guarantees a particularly clean and stable power supply.
A pure copper platter support additionally improves the acoustic coupling between platter and disc and reduces resonances, resulting in even greater sound precision.
The TD 124 DD Exclusive offers both gold-plated RCA outputs and balanced XLR outputs for optimum integration into a wide range of hi-fi setups.
