Audio Physic Classic 25 Last Edition Floorstanding Speakers (Pair)

The MDF cabinet of the CLASSIC 25 Last Edition is elaborately engineered and extremely rigid thanks to numerous internal braces. In the Walnut wood version, natural real-wood surfaces meet elegant black glass on the slim front baffle, creating a look of understated sophistication.

As with its predecessor, the CLASSIC 20, the CLASSIC 25 Last Edition uses the familiar sandwich cabinet design known from models such as the Avanti or Midex for its high-gloss glass surfaces: the inner MDF корпус is clad on the outside with panels of back-painted glass. A special bonding method using 2 mm thick acrylic strips ensures a permanently elastic connection between the two materials. With their completely different resonance characteristics, they are no longer able to develop any cabinet coloration of their own.

The defined spacing also creates a double-glazing effect: sound radiated backwards into the enclosure can hardly escape to the outside. This allows the tweeter and midrange drivers to work without interference. You don’t hear a loudspeaker — you hear pure music!

Another advantage of the glass panels is their elegant and extremely durable high-gloss finish. Even after years of use and care, it still looks as pristine as on day one, without losing any of its shine or its exceptional sense of depth. A surface quality this impressive and long-lasting simply cannot be achieved with conventional lacquer finishes.

Special attention was paid to the bass range, as this is where the highest loads occur. The newly developed, highly powerful woofer — a 21.5 cm long-throw driver — is not mounted visibly on the front or side as with many speakers, but works hidden inside the cabinet. The sound is emitted through two precisely tuned openings.

This special design offers several advantages: on the one hand, the CLASSIC 25 Last Edition reaches impressively deep while remaining precise and clearly defined at all times. On the other hand, it is far less sensitive to placement in the room than conventional designs. Even when positioned close to a wall, it impresses with fine detail and transparency across the entire frequency spectrum.

The remaining driver complement of the CLASSIC 25 Last Edition is also state of the art: it features Hyper Holographic tweeter and midrange units (HHCT III and HHCM SL). Their special dual-basket design ensures that the moving components of the drivers — such as the diaphragm and voice coil — are not directly coupled to the baffle, but instead mechanically decoupled.

This engineering effort is considerable, but it pays off: the result is a sound signature defined by exceptional precision, outstanding detail retrieval, and a highly neutral tuning.

All in all, compared with its already excellent predecessor, the CLASSIC 25 Last Edition represents a significant step forward both in construction and in sound. It even comes surprisingly close to the structurally similar Avanti from the Reference line. In its own price class, the  therefore has nothing to fear from comparison!
