Nordost Tyr 2 AES/EBU Digital Cable belongs to the Nordost Norse 2 series and is designed for digital audio connections using the balanced AES/EBU standard.
AES/EBU digital cables are commonly used between professional-grade or high-performance hi-fi digital sources, CD transports, streamers and external DACs. Unlike coaxial SPDIF, AES/EBU uses a balanced digital connection and is typically associated with XLR-style connectors.
Tyr 2 sits above Frey 2 in the Norse 2 range and is intended for highly resolving digital systems where signal stability, low noise, timing and precise source-to-DAC integration are especially important.
As part of the Norse 2 family, Tyr 2 follows Nordost’s design philosophy of speed, openness, low noise and precise signal transfer. In a digital audio setup, it is aimed at supporting stable transfer, clean timing and a more coherent digital front end.
This cable is suitable for systems where a digital source is connected to a DAC via AES/EBU. It can be used between compatible CD transports, streamers, digital players and DACs, depending on the available digital outputs and inputs.
For best results, choose the correct length for your system layout and avoid tight bends or unnecessary tension on the connectors. If your system offers several digital outputs, such as USB, optical, coaxial SPDIF, AES/EBU or network streaming, the best choice depends on your source, DAC and overall system configuration.
