Nordost QBASE QB8 Mark III AC Distribution Unit is part of Nordost’s QRT power optimisation range and is designed to provide a structured AC power foundation for larger hi-fi and AV systems.

Power distribution is one of the most important foundations of a serious audio system. Source components, DACs, streamers, phono stages, preamplifiers, power amplifiers, processors and system optimisation devices all rely on stable AC power, and the way power is distributed across the system can influence perceived noise, timing, clarity and overall musical coherence.

QBASE QB8 Mark III uses an 8-outlet design, making it suitable for advanced systems with multiple separate components. It is a practical choice for setups with several sources, a DAC, preamplifier, power amplifier, phono stage, streamer, network audio components or AV electronics.

For EU systems, QB8 Mark III is intended for Schuko-based installations and is available in 10A and 16A versions. The correct version should be selected according to the required current rating, mains cable connector type and overall system power layout.

Unlike a conventional mains block, QBASE is intended as part of a complete system approach to power. It can help organise the AC side of the system, reduce unwanted noise interactions between components and create a more consistent electrical foundation for high-resolution playback.

QBASE QB8 Mark III can be used together with suitable Nordost power cables, QKORE grounding units, QKORE Wire and other QRT system optimisation products such as QWAVE, QSINE, QVIBE and QKOIL.

For best results, the full power layout should be planned carefully: wall socket, main power cable, distribution unit, component order, grounding and cable routing all matter. In advanced systems, QB8 Mark III can become the central AC distribution point for the main audio and system optimisation components.

Nordost QBASE QB8 Mark III is best suited to larger systems where several components need clean, organised AC power distribution. For more compact systems, QB4 Mark III may be more practical; for reference-level systems, QBASE QB10 Reference may be the stronger choice.
