Luxman B-100 CENTENNIAL is a flagship monaural power amplifier created to celebrate 100 years of Luxman. It follows the spirit of Luxman’s anniversary statement amplifiers and is designed for high-end systems where absolute control, refinement and musical authority are required.
Unlike a stereo power amplifier, the B-100 CENTENNIAL is built as a dedicated monoblock amplifier. Each unit drives one loudspeaker channel, allowing the power supply, amplification stage and chassis construction to be fully focused on a single channel. This approach gives the system greater separation, stability and drive capability.
The amplifier delivers 125 W into 8 ohms and 250 W into 4 ohms, with the first 25 W into 8 ohms operating in Class A. This gives the B-100 CENTENNIAL the tonal density, smoothness and low-level expressiveness associated with Class A operation, while still providing the current and headroom required for more demanding loudspeakers.
At the heart of the amplifier is Luxman’s LIFES 1.1 amplification circuit, used here with a high-current 4 × 4 output configuration. The output stage combines multiple 3-stage Darlington parallel push-pull modules to achieve strong linearity, low distortion and exceptional loudspeaker control.
The power supply is built around a large 1,250 VA EI-type transformer with flat rectangular copper windings, supported by a high-capacity capacitor bank. This gives the amplifier the stability and instantaneous current delivery needed for wide dynamic swings, powerful bass and effortless musical scale.
Connectivity includes both RCA unbalanced and XLR balanced inputs, making the B-100 CENTENNIAL suitable for use with a wide range of high-end pre-amplifiers.
