Wish You Were Here is the ninth studio album by British progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Originally released in 1975, it is one of the band’s defining works, built around themes of absence, alienation, the music industry and the memory of Syd Barrett.

The album is especially important for Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Welcome To The Machine and the timeless title track Wish You Were Here, and remains one of the essential progressive rock albums of the 1970s.
