Arcam AVA25 Multi-Channel AV Amplifier

The Arcam AVA25 is a high-performance multi-channel AV amplifier designed for demanding home cinema systems where sound quality is equally important for movies and music. As part of the Radia AV range, it combines nine channels of powerful Class AB amplification with advanced 16-channel surround processing, extensive HDMI connectivity, Dirac Live room correction and integrated high-resolution music streaming.

Nine Channels of Class AB Amplification

The AVA25 uses nine channels of Arcam Class AB amplification, developed to deliver strong dynamic performance and the natural, musical presentation associated with the brand. It delivers 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms with two channels driven across the full 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency range and can provide 160 watts per channel into 4 ohms under two-channel conditions.

With seven channels driven, the amplifier delivers 90 watts per channel into 8 ohms, providing substantial power for immersive home cinema installations and demanding loudspeaker systems.

16-Channel Processing and System Expansion

Although nine power amplifier channels are built in, the AVA25 can process up to 16 channels. Sixteen RCA preamplifier outputs allow external power amplifiers to be added for larger surround systems, additional height channels, multiple subwoofers or more ambitious speaker configurations.

This makes the AVA25 suitable not only for conventional 7.1.2 and 5.1.4 installations but also as the central control component of a significantly larger home cinema system.

Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and AURO-3D

The AVA25 supports a comprehensive range of immersive audio formats including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and AURO-3D. It also supports Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Surround, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS Neural:X, DTS Virtual:X and MPEG-H processing.

The combination of extensive channel processing and support for multiple immersive formats allows sound to be positioned around and above the listener, creating a convincing three-dimensional sound field for films, concerts and multi-channel music.

Dirac Live Room Correction

Dirac Live Room Correction is included as standard, allowing the AVA25 to compensate for acoustic problems caused by the listening room and speaker placement. Measurements are made using the supplied microphone, after which Dirac applies frequency and time-domain correction to improve tonal balance, imaging and system integration.

For more advanced systems, the AVA25 can be upgraded with Dirac Live Bass Control and Dirac Live Active Room Treatment, providing additional optimisation of subwoofers and the interaction between multiple loudspeakers and the room.

Advanced 8K HDMI Connectivity

Seven HDMI inputs provide extensive connectivity for disc players, streaming devices, game consoles and other video sources. Three HDMI outputs are provided, including two Zone 1 outputs and an additional Zone 2 output.

HDMI 2.1a connectivity supports video up to 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz as well as HDR, HDR10, HDR10+, HDR10+ Gaming, Dolby Vision and HLG. Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency Mode provide additional compatibility with modern gaming systems, while eARC allows high-resolution audio to be returned from a compatible television.

High-Resolution Music Streaming

The AVA25 also functions as a fully integrated network music player. Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect provide direct access to popular streaming platforms, while Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, Internet Radio, podcasts and UPnP extend the range of available music sources.

High-resolution network audio is supported up to 24-bit/192 kHz, and Roon Ready certification allows the AVA25 to operate directly as an endpoint in a Roon-based audio system.

Modern Wireless Connectivity

Bluetooth connectivity supports Snapdragon Sound and Auracast, providing flexible wireless audio options in addition to network streaming. Dual-band Wi-Fi enables reliable connection to home networks for streaming, control and system configuration.

Radia AV Control and Large Colour Display

A 6.5-inch high-resolution colour display provides clear access to operating information and music metadata from the listening position. Setup, streaming and everyday operation can also be handled through the Arcam Radia AV Control app on compatible iOS, Android and Windows devices.

A backlit Bluetooth remote control is supplied, allowing the amplifier to be operated without requiring direct line of sight.
