Focal Aria Evo X N°4 is the largest and most ambitious floorstanding loudspeaker in the Aria Evo X range. Designed for listeners who want substantial scale, deep bass and high dynamic capability without sacrificing tonal refinement, it combines two large 8-inch Flax woofers with a dedicated Flax midrange driver and Focal’s TAM tweeter.

Focal recommends the Aria Evo X N°4 for listening rooms from approximately 30 m², with a listening distance of around 3 to 5 metres. Its combination of high sensitivity, substantial bass capability and wide dispersion makes it equally suitable for demanding stereo systems and large-scale home cinema installations.

Two 8-Inch Flax Woofers

The N°4 uses two 8-inch (21 cm) bass drivers equipped with Focal’s patented Flax sandwich cones. High-quality French flax fibres are placed between two thin layers of fiberglass, producing a diaphragm that combines low mass, high rigidity and effective internal damping.

The larger cone area gives the N°4 considerably greater low-frequency authority and dynamic capability while preserving the speed and articulation required for accurate music reproduction. Bass remains deep and powerful without losing definition or control.

Dedicated Flax Midrange with TMD Suspension

A dedicated 6.5-inch Flax midrange driver reproduces the critical vocal and instrumental range. Its Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) suspension stabilises the surround and reduces unwanted resonances, particularly in the sensitive upper-midrange region.

This contributes to a cleaner and more neutral presentation, allowing voices and acoustic instruments to retain their natural texture, presence and tonal accuracy even during complex musical passages.

TAM Tweeter with Wide Dispersion

High frequencies are reproduced by Focal’s 1-inch aluminium/magnesium TAM tweeter. Its M-shaped inverted dome combines high rigidity with very low moving mass, while the dedicated waveguide improves horizontal dispersion and helps create a broad, stable soundstage.

A decompression chamber behind the tweeter reduces disturbances caused by rear radiation, contributing to smooth, detailed treble and excellent harmonic balance.

Powerflow Multi-Port Bass System

Aria Evo X N°4 uses Focal’s Powerflow multi-port system, combining a front-facing bass-reflex port with a second port directed towards the floor. The front port reinforces impact, while the downward-facing port increases depth and helps reduce dynamic compression.

This arrangement allows the two large bass drivers to move freely even at high playback levels, giving the N°4 strong low-frequency extension together with excellent control and responsiveness.

Ultra-Rigid Cabinet and Aluminium-Alloy Base

The cabinet is built from ultra-rigid MDF with non-parallel side panels to minimise internal standing waves and unwanted vibration. This provides the drivers with a stable mechanical platform and contributes to greater neutrality and precision.

An aluminium-alloy base provides excellent floor stability and incorporates adjustable spikes, allowing the loudspeaker to be positioned securely on different floor surfaces.

Built for Larger Listening Spaces

With a frequency response extending to 37 Hz at ±3 dB and 31 Hz at -6 dB, the Aria Evo X N°4 can reproduce substantial low-frequency energy without relying on a subwoofer for conventional stereo listening. Its 92.5 dB sensitivity also allows it to deliver impressive dynamic range with a wide variety of high-quality amplifiers.

The nominal impedance is 8 ohms, with a minimum impedance of 2.5 ohms, and Focal recommends amplifier power between 40 and 350 watts.

Made in France

Aria Evo X N°4 is made in France, with its key loudspeaker technologies developed and manufactured by Focal. The combination of Flax drivers, TMD suspension and TAM tweeter reflects the company’s vertically integrated approach to loudspeaker engineering.

Distinctive Aria Evo X Design

The cabinet combines a leather-effect front panel with Black High Gloss, Prime Walnut or Moss Green High Gloss finishes. A removable magnetic grille preserves the loudspeaker’s clean appearance while allowing the distinctive Flax drivers to remain visible when desired.
