Focal SUB 1000F is a powerful active sealed subwoofer developed to add deep, precise and highly controlled low-frequency reproduction to premium home cinema and stereo systems. Combining a 12-inch Flax woofer with a 1000 W BASH® amplifier and a compact closed enclosure, it delivers substantial bass output without sacrificing speed, definition or tonal accuracy.

Its compact 42 cm cube-shaped cabinet makes the SUB 1000F comparatively easy to integrate into a listening room, while its extension down to 22 Hz at -6 dB allows it to reproduce the lowest effects in film soundtracks with convincing scale and authority.

12-Inch Flax Woofer

At the heart of the SUB 1000F is a 12-inch (30 cm) bass driver equipped with Focal’s patented Flax sandwich cone. High-quality French flax fibres are positioned between two thin layers of fiberglass, creating a diaphragm that combines low mass, high rigidity and effective internal damping.

These properties allow the woofer to move large volumes of air while retaining excellent control. Bass remains powerful and dynamic, yet clean and well defined rather than becoming heavy or blurred.

Dual-Magnet Motor System

The woofer uses a dual-magnet motor structure designed to provide strong and consistent magnetic force to the voice coil. This improves driver linearity and helps maintain control even during demanding low-frequency passages at high listening levels.

The result is bass reproduction that combines substantial output capability with the precision required for both film soundtracks and high-quality music playback.

1000 W BASH® Amplification

A powerful 1000 W BASH® amplifier provides the energy required for the 30 cm woofer to reach its full potential. The amplifier and driver are engineered as an integrated system, allowing the SUB 1000F to reproduce sudden low-frequency transients with speed and authority.

This substantial power reserve makes the subwoofer particularly well suited to dynamic home cinema systems where deep bass effects must remain clean and controlled even at elevated playback levels.

Closed Cabinet for Tight, Controlled Bass

Unlike a bass-reflex design, the SUB 1000F uses a sealed enclosure. The closed cabinet helps eliminate port noise and unwanted interference while contributing to a fast and controlled low-frequency response.

The cabinet uses thick panels, including a substantial 40 mm front baffle, to provide a rigid mechanical foundation for the powerful woofer. The high-gloss lacquered front panel and absence of visible fixing screws also give the subwoofer a clean and refined appearance.

Flexible System Integration

The SUB 1000F provides stereo line-level inputs as well as a dedicated direct LFE input for connection to an AV receiver or surround processor. The adjustable crossover can be set between 40 and 160 Hz, while 0° / 180° phase selection helps optimise integration with the main loudspeakers and room acoustics.

ON and Auto operating modes allow the subwoofer either to remain permanently active or to switch on automatically when an audio signal is detected.
