The Sonus Faber Olympica III G3 is a refined three-way floorstanding loudspeaker that combines powerful, transparent sound with the elegant proportions and handcrafted materials of the third-generation Olympica collection. Its relatively slender cabinet houses a dedicated tweeter, Camelia midrange driver and two 165 mm woofers, creating a full-scale presentation suitable for sophisticated stereo and home cinema systems.

Technologies derived from Sonus Faber’s flagship Suprema loudspeaker are integrated into a cabinet inspired by the harmony and architectural balance of Vicenza’s Teatro Olimpico. The result is a loudspeaker designed to reproduce music with clarity, depth, natural tonal colour and convincing spatial scale.

Three-Way Acoustic Design

The Olympica III G3 uses a true three-way driver configuration. A 28 mm DAD™ Arrow Point silk-dome tweeter reproduces the high frequencies, a dedicated 165 mm Camelia paper-cone driver handles the midrange, and two 165 mm paper-cone woofers provide low-frequency extension and dynamic authority.

Crossover points at 365 Hz and 2460 Hz allow each driver section to operate within its optimal frequency range while maintaining a coherent transition from deep bass through the critical vocal region and into the upper frequencies.

DAD™ Arrow Point Silk-Dome Tweeter

The 28 mm extended-frequency tweeter incorporates Sonus Faber’s DAD™ — Damped Apex Dome — technology. Its Arrow Point element controls the centre of the silk dome, reducing unwanted movement at the apex and improving high-frequency precision.

This design allows the Olympica III G3 to reproduce fine transient information, natural harmonics and spatial detail with clarity and smoothness, extending the overall frequency response to 40 kHz.

Camelia Paper-Cone Midrange

The dedicated 165 mm Camelia midrange driver was originally developed for the Sonus Faber Suprema system. Its distinctive non-circular paper diaphragm is inspired by the natural geometry of the camellia flower.

The irregular membrane shape helps reduce unwanted resonances while allowing the complete diaphragm surface to radiate towards the listener. A copper cap contributes to controlled driver behaviour, helping voices and acoustic instruments retain their natural presence, transparency and tonal realism.

Dedicated Cork-Damped Midrange Chamber

The tweeter and Camelia midrange driver are housed within a dedicated sealed acoustic chamber, separating them from the pressure generated by the bass section.

This internal chamber uses a specially shaped natural cork damping structure developed through computer simulation. The organic cork form controls internal reflections and resonances, improving midrange resolution while preserving the natural character of voices and instruments.

Twin 165 mm Woofers

Two 165 mm paper-cone woofers provide the Olympica III G3 with controlled low-frequency extension, dynamic impact and the ability to reproduce music on a convincing physical scale.

The vented bass enclosure supports a frequency response extending down to 42 Hz while maintaining the speed and articulation required for natural integration with the dedicated midrange driver.

Asymmetrical Lute-Shaped Cabinet

The cabinet follows Sonus Faber’s distinctive asymmetrical lute-inspired geometry. Its curved profile reduces parallel internal surfaces and helps control standing waves and internal resonances that could otherwise colour the sound.

Natural wood, solid aluminium and leather are combined to create a rigid enclosure with the appearance and tactile quality of fine Italian furniture. The sculptural proportions allow the Olympica III G3 to deliver substantial acoustic performance without appearing excessively imposing in the listening room.

Refined Aluminium Details

Matte grey sandblasted aluminium elements give the Olympica G3 collection a more contemporary visual character. Polished 45-degree chamfers introduce subtle contrasting highlights while emphasising the precision of the cabinet construction.

Flexible Amplifier Matching

With a sensitivity of 90 dB, a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and a recommended amplifier power range of 50 to 300 watts per channel, the Olympica III G3 can be partnered with a wide range of premium integrated amplifiers and power amplifiers.

Four binding posts provide separate connections for the mid-high and low-frequency sections, allowing flexible system integration.

Walnut and Wenge Finishes

The Olympica III G3 is available in two natural wood finishes: Walnut Wood and Wenge Wood. Both versions are complemented by solid aluminium elements and leather detailing.
